Position Title: Network Firewall Engineer (IT Engineer Network Administrator)

Location: 100% Remote

Pay Rate: $60/hour (W2 only)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Network Firewall Engineer to support cybersecurity infrastructure. This role focuses on managing and optimizing firewall systems, with a strong emphasis on Palo Alto Networks technologies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in firewall administration, network security, and automation.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience managing Palo Alto firewalls
• Strong understanding of networking protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and routers
• Experience with network monitoring tools
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Checkpoint firewalls
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (IaaS)
• Scripting skills in Python for automation

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain Palo Alto firewall infrastructure, including upgrades, patches, and configurations
• Convert Layer 4 rules to Layer 7 using User-ID and App-ID
• Create and manage custom App-IDs
• Monitor and enhance network security performance
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance and best practices
• (Preferred) Manage Checkpoint firewalls in an IaaS environment
• (Preferred) Deploy Palo Alto firewalls in cloud-based infrastructures
• (Preferred) Use Python scripting to automate firewall and network tasks
