Job Description

The Walt Disney Imagineering Executive Communications Manager is a leadership role within the Walt Disney Imagineering Communications team, responsible for guiding a small team of communications professionals and overseeing the planning, development, and delivery of executive and organizational messaging.

This position serves as a primary point of contact for senior leaders , translating their vision into clear, compelling narratives for internal and external audiences. The Communications Manager will balance strategic oversight with hands-on execution, ensuring high-quality deliverables, consistent messaging, and strong collaboration across teams.

You will not only manage projects but also mentor team members, streamline workflows, and represent the Communications function in executive-level discussions.

What You Will Do:

As the Executive Communications Manager , you will:

  • Serve as a primary communications partner for senior executives, advising on messaging, tone, and strategic delivery.
  • Manage the creation of executive speeches, talking points, presentations, and written communications for internal and external audiences.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of major communication initiatives, ensuring alignment across multiple stakeholders and functions.
  • Facilitate and lead regular touchpoints with leadership to review upcoming priorities and communication needs.
  • Approve and oversee the production of newsletters, announcements, and other executive communications, maintaining brand and messaging consistency.
  • Coordinate with creative, AV, and production teams to produce engaging assets.
  • Manage the communications calendar and ensure seamless scheduling across projects, campaigns, and leadership updates.
  • Review and approve communications for clarity, accuracy, and alignment with company priorities.
  • Track communication impact and report on effectiveness, making recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Represent the Communications team in cross-functional meetings, ensuring Imagineering’s messaging is consistent and integrated.
  • Step in to assist with content creation and event support as needed to meet deadlines and maintain quality.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

5+ years of experience in communications, public relations, corporate events, or related field, including:

  • Leadership & Team Management: Experience guiding and developing a small team or project group, providing direction, feedback, and fostering professional growth.
  • Executive Communication Expertise: Demonstrated ability to work directly with senior leaders, preparing and delivering high-quality speeches, talking points, and presentations that reflect organizational priorities.
  • Strategic Planning: Proven track record of developing and managing communication strategies from concept through execution, ensuring alignment with brand and business objectives.
  • Exceptional Writing & Editing Skills: Ability to translate complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives across multiple formats and audiences.
  • Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal skills to develop trust and maintain positive working relationships with executives, peers, and cross-functional partners.
  • Organization & Project Management: Skilled at managing multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to evaluate communication effectiveness through metrics and recommend improvements.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); familiarity with SAP; and experience with creative tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat) preferred.
  • Professionalism & Executive Presence: Ability to represent the Communications team in leadership meetings and high-profile settings with confidence, discretion, and service-oriented focus.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing or equivalent work experience.

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $113,800 to $152,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
